SEO Gurus 2 Prospect 0 - at half time

A prospect doesn't believe the SEO Gurus
will know that we set ourselves a little challenge. The aim was to create a fully
functioning website for that famous solicitors company in Manchester -
Sue, Grabbit and Runne.
Well the good news is that the site is up and running. But even better, for
about 3 weeks it has been able to be found on the MSN first page using
"Manchester solicitors" (in quotes to show we are looking for the whole phrase).
For about two weeks it has been searchable using Manchester solicitors
without quotes - a more difficult search. Now it can also be found with any of the
specializations that I set up like employment law, pensions, licensing, etc.

Manchester solicitors xxxxxxxx, where the phrase xxxxxxxx is replaced by one of our specialisations e.g.
compensation claims
pensions
licensing
corporate property

business recovery
It is especially gratifying that we are already ahead of almost all
solicitors own sites, and only behind 2 directory sites. Let me reiterate that
this is after less than 2 months and without using any underhand techniques. We have also
recently modified the site to also be found under solicitors Manchester.
This is exactly as I predicted, we first see searches in quotes on MSN, then on
MSN without quotes. As for Google, as we have said in previous articles, it builds
in an artificial delay for new sites of between 3 and 6 months. This is to stop the
new kids on the block skewing Google's search results. However two things are
already happening for our site on Google. Firstly, you can find us by keying
in our specializations in quotes e.g. "Manchester solicitors licensing" - this means
that Google is grudgingly seeing us. Secondly, it has given the site an immediate
page rank of 2 - very unusual for a new site, we must be doing something right!
In the next couple of months, we believe Messrs Sue, Grabbit and Runne will be
working their way up Google - do your bit and search for them and then click on the site. I
hope your like the rabbit - a clever bit of html and css allows the reader to pull the text
of the page across the background image, in this case a rabbit - well, its part of Grabbit!
